The Library Terrace has furniture in place.

The Library Terrace has furniture in place and is ready to be used.

The Library Terrace project provides the residents of and visitors to Jeff Davis County a pleasant, welcoming, outdoor seating area and local area historical information in a permanent kiosk, as well as access to the library’s WIFI 24 hours a day, every day.

Historic Coal Chute Doors

Historic coal chute doors discovered upon excavation of the loading dock site, and incorporated into the Terrace Design.

This project has identified some significant historical artifacts and preserved them and incorporated them into the design.  Please come by and see the progress we have made through your donations.

 

 

Groundbreaking of the Library Terrace

Grants for this project have been received from Permian Basin Area Foundation ($20,000), Texas Mountain Trails division of Texas Historical Commission ($10,000), and the Carl B & Florence E King Foundation ($20,000). 

Memorial plaques and a recognition plaque are in progress.  We thank each and everyone for their contribution to this project and for their continued support of the events sponsored by the Friends of the Jeff Davis County Library.
